Seniors can try out infusing water with fruit or fruit juice, herbal teas, or water enhancers that don’t have a lot of sugar in them. Adding just a hint of flavor makes the water more appealing without adding too many calories or ingredients seniors don’t really need.
Keep Water Front and Center
When seniors don’t see their water glass or bottle, it’s easy to forget about it. Seniors often have a diminished sense of thirst as it is, meaning that they may not notice that they need to drink water. Keeping water visible and handy everywhere means that seniors are more likely to take a sip more often. Using a water bottle that keeps water at its ideal temperature is also a great idea.
